Our System

Hello! So, systems are very much different from system to system and even sometimes in subsystems, so it seemed like a good idea for us to explain sort of how things operate for us because of that.In the jargon of the plural community, we are a chaogenic, polypsychic, gateway system.Chaogenic means that we are chaotic in how we have formed, how different headmates have joined us in here. There is a blend of those of us formed from trauma and those who formed in other ways. This said, as we called ourselves before, we're a mixed origin system, between traumagenic and endogenic. Therefore we welcome, accept, and respect all sorts because...well, it'd be hypocritical if we didn't, yeah?Now, polypsychic is a little different, it's a newer term we learned from another that fits us well. The literal meaning is 'many souls' in that we firmly believe that each of us has our own soul...more or less. (It's complicated as will be shown later.)Gateway means...well, what it sounds like! We don't necessarily have a gate in the headspace (which we more or less describe as a broken holodeck), but there are those who come and go from within to elsewhere. We...have a gatekeeper of sorts, but rarely does he have to step in to do anything as the rest of us are pretty...tightly knit in our way to sort things out ourselves!So, that said, we have a lot of members, each with their own wants, needs, desires, and ability. Each of us has our own relationships with others, and thus ought to be treated as different individuals due to that. Also, outside of emergencies, please don't ask for a specific person to front. We get that you might want to talk to someone specific, but...sometimes that's just not in the cards.As a system, we are very...empathetic. Each of us is capable of feeling if things are...off. Not genuine. It varies from person to person, and we're as human as anyone else and so there are times when that sense will not be accurate, but this also applies to within the system as well. With the host being as empathetic as she is, it's common that what she feels is reflected in everyone else and affects them, but the opposite is true as well. There is a constant link of sorts between everyone, as well as a sort of 'core memory bank'. We each make our own memories but...we all have access to everyone else's memories with few exceptions.This means we all know how to play games, write, take care of kids, and so on, but we all aren't...at the same level of talent or even just wanting to do those things, so you'll see different people doing different things.
